Telia Employees' Summer Event: Discovery Valley

”Telia Lietuva” is a part of an international “Telia Company Group” operating in 15 countries and offering new technology solutions that make their customers lives and work easier.

Goal

Telia asked us to propose an unconventional idea for the annual summer event of the newly merged company. Our main goal was to create an original and innovations based event full of new experiences and discoveries.

Challenge

The main challenge was to surprise 2 000 gathered people, keep them busy, entertained and engaged in various activities throughout the whole event. The event communication had to spread the values of "Telia", speak of digital leadership and unite all employees.

We came up with the idea of Telia Discovery Valley, where innovations and technology was the center of attention. As the summer gathering took place in huge "Harmony Park", we've combined the unique location with the main idea and challenged 32 teams of "Telia" employees to participate in many innovative activations spread around the park.

We've created a platform for communication before, during and after the event. A special application served as a channel for general communication, invitations, RSVPs, teams arrangements, homework, arrival procedure, event's map, tasks for teams, points counting and even as a tool to manage food and beverages coupons. The whole event had huge digital impact. In addition to the traditional activities, there were a big range of innovations driven activations: Green-screens, 3D pencils, Oculus glasses, digital cycling races, team's soundtrack creation with mash machine. A full day of experiences was crowned with an award ceremony and musical performances from well known Lithuanian artists "SKAMP" and Marijonas Mikutavičius.
